General - TRAVEL BUSINESS
Written by: Since starting Live It Travel, a fully licensed international travel and tour company based in Mooloolaba, I have been privy to the excitement and enthusiasm that surrounds each and every one of our clients when planning their very special holiday.
I often say that I was catapulted into creating Live It Travel by some of the remarkable encounters and events that have happened in my life. My fascination and delight in meeting people of different cultural backgrounds and learning about their beliefs and customs is something that I have always loved. Being frequently drawn to listening to other people’s travel stories and especially about how they like to travel, as well as my steep learning curve when working closely with highly gifted students “to practice what I preach”, led me to leave my teaching career and follow my passion of helping others embrace cultures through travel.
So, with determination and excitement, I went about creating Live It Travel’s unique style of travel and our outstanding travel services to enable our clients to “LIVE the culture, LOVE the flexibility and DO what excites you!” to make your travel experience an unforgettable one.
And my favourite destination, you ask? As with all you avid travellers out there this is not an easy question to answer! I have many fond memories of watching the early procession of the monks in Luang Prabang Laos, parading humbly in their burnt sienna robes as they receive offerings of food and gifts from the local Lao people. Images of the kaleidoscope of colour and the energy emitted in the bustling Old Quarter of Hanoi and the awesome splendour of Majestic Angkor Wat, Siem Reap Cambodia are also very dear to my heart.
It is incredible India, though, that has grabbed my attention of late. With its endless, irresistible and fascinating history and ageless ancient traditions, India offers an enriching, enlightening and sometimes unpredictable magic. India is a visual splendour that delightfully impacts on the senses as unusual scents fill the air with both pungent and aromatic smells; burning incenses, simmering spices and mouth-watering fragrances. The extraordinary bustle of India’s colourful cities and the unrivalled beauty of magnificent palaces against striking scenery is what drew me in. It’s the simple things though that you remember fondly, like the welcoming ladies in traditional local costumes and having your forehead anointed with the traditional red “tikka”. I reminisce quietly of my time on a rickshaw while admiring or buying the spectacular jewellery, hand-painted fabrics and stone sculptures in the local bazaar.
If you are in need of an adventure that will leave you spellbound, incredible India with its repertoire of surprises and delights is my favourite travel pick.
