Sign your business up to the online industry support networks

Online social networking is an integral part of everyday life and the Department of Education and Training has drawn on the popularity of the medium to connect students, educators, workers and employers through nine industry portals.

Development Officer Web Portals,  Angela Lisle says these online industry support portals will help keep Queensland students, businesses and educators well networked in their field of professional interest.”

“Each of the nine portals is dedicated to a professional field allowing workers, employers, students, educators, trainers and associates to share information and network 24 hours every day.”

The nine portals established include the following industry areas; childcare, business, sustainability, trades, health, retail, creative, and sport and tourism.

Ms Lisle says the portals will be invaluable to businesses on the Sunshine Coast.

“The portals feature a jobs board and a business listings directory.

“Businesses seeking employees can post job vacancies and also view resumes posted separately by other members.

“Each portal is a one-stop shop featuring news, blogs and forums.

“Each industry will be able to connect and share knowledge and access support and encouragement from other Queenslanders with similar professional interests.”

This exciting initiative of the Queensland Skills Plan highlights pathways to high level qualifications was developed by the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE in collaboration with the wider TAFE institute network.
