AICD grows on Sunshine Coast
The Sunshine Coast Regional Committee for the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) has welcomed five new committee members and put in place a new strategicdirection to better support local AICD members.
Keeping in line with AICD being Australia's pre-eminent organisation for directors and senior business leaders, the committee recently underwent structural changes to welcome
new committee members Terry Bethke, Russell Mason, Lyn Eddy, Martine Pop and Kirsten Offergeld.
Sunshine Coast Committee Chair Natasha Read says the new committee members are a welcome addition and offer different skill sets and business backgrounds.
“The committee, as local members of AICD ourselves, understand that our needs as a growing region of predominately SME’s may differ from those of our city counterparts and
we are committed to providing relevant and topical events for our fellow Sunshine Coast business professionals,” Ms Read said.
“Membership on the Sunshine Coast has almost doubled in size in the last two years to total over 300 members, making up almost 10 per cent of all Queensland members which is
almost equal to that of larger regions like the Gold Coast,” she said.
The AICD Sunshine Coast Committee will host six events in the region throughout the year, with the first one scheduled for 17 February.
The Directors on Location event will be held at Sunshine Coast airport and will include a guided tour of the terminal redevelopment, presentations from Sunshine Coast Airport
General Manager Peter Pallot and Aeromil Group Executive Chairman Steve Padgett, as well as networking with drinks and canapés.
The new Sunshine Coast Regional Committee has planned a full calendar of activities to follow on from this event and to further grow and support the local AICD community.
