5 Minutes with Vickie Magic

Vickie Magic is the new managing editor of Business Matters. Her varied business background includes 10 years with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, 10 years as a small business owner and another 10 years in the advertising industry in Brisbane, including radio and print (yes, she is a mature lady!). She says that her claim to fame is her successful campaigns that get results for her clients.

Winning the very first Commercial Radio Awards Advertising Representative of the Year in 2004 was what made Vickie realise that her success was based on her clients’ success. She believes the number-one thing that helps her stand out in a crowded marketplace is her absolute passion and desire for her clients to stay with her long-term. She believes that only happens if her clients continue to get results.  The focus is on helping her clients to work out exactly why people pick them, and helping them to put together a strategy that works.

Her last stint was as at a high-profile Brisbane lifestyle magazine, where she learnt a lot about what does and doesn’t work in the advertising world.

Vickie is also a published author, having co-written a book called Inspired to Success along with well-known motivational authors Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup for the Soul), Mark Victor Hanson (The One Minute Millionaire) and Dr Wayne Dwyer (The Power of Intention). The book is all about motivating people to success, and realising that a large part of success comes from the mind. Your mindset is the beginning of everything.

Vickie has also written a monthly motivational column in Brisbane, helping readers see things from the bright side and inspiring them to do whatever they want to.

Her all-time favourite saying is: “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you are 100 percent correct.”

Vickie is very excited to be part of Business Matters and is totally committed and passionate in her resolve to turn the magazine into a must-read business bible.
