Joel, tell us about your business.
I have owned Auto Leaders All Car Servicing in Maroochydore for almost nine years to date. Being a fully trained mechanic and with cars always being my passion, I saw an opportunity to get involved in a growing franchise, being Auto Leaders, and I jumped at the chance to combine running my own business and my love of all things auto.

Our current issue is about people. As a business owner, what would you say is the most important thing about hiring and keeping good people?
I would have to agree that since the huge mining boom, finding good tradespeople has become a lot more difficult. I have also shifted my focus to rewarding my long-term staff members who continue to assist me in growing our business and providing great service to our customers.

Tell us a little about Auto Leaders All Car Servicing. Why do your customers keep coming back?
Auto Leaders All Car Servicing is an automotive servicing group specialising in high quality workmanship with personalised customer service at a fair price. We can service any new or used car without voiding any manufacturer’s statutory warranties and we do this at a more competitive price with the guarantee we will beat any written dealer quote by at least 10 percent. Auto Leaders also specialises in electronic diagnosis, brakes, steering, suspension, cooling systems and air-conditioning, and is an approved inspection station.

Other than offering the best prices, we are confident our customers return to our business and have been for more than eight years now for the reason that we believe in doing business with an open book attitude. We also believe in educating our customers on their vehicles, and the options and alternatives they have concerning maintenance and repairs to make sure they fully understand what they are paying for when it comes to their cars.

Tell us something about yourself.
It’s actually quite difficult to write something about myself as a person or as a business owner, but I would have to say that both my personal and professional aim and acumen is to treat others with the same respect I like to be treated with. At present I’m preparing to become a first-time father, with my son due to be born in early January 2012. I am hoping the love of all things fast will flow through his veins and maybe even an interest in drag racing to continue on in my legacy and recent success if he chooses.
